The important festivals of each race is a public holiday in a country(so there are lot of public holiday here!) and celebrated by all regardless of race and beliefs.In term of dressing , it is a common sight in Malaysia to find girls whos hairs and upper torsos are covered. This piece of head covering is called tudung in the Malay Languange,literally means ''to cover" or it is also known as ''hijjab'' in arabic. This is compulsary for Muslim woman. There's no negotiation for goings against the rule. If not,they will be punished in the hereafter. However,each malaysian has to respect others regardless of races and beliefs.

Malaysia has a population of about25 million.It is a maltiracial country whose social integration has become a model for the rest of the world.Almost 80% of the total population occupy Peninsular Malaysia.There are 3mainraces in the country.The malays,who are muslims, form the majority in the country.The other 2 main racial group are the Chinese,who are mostly buddhist and the Indians,who are mainly hindus.Other groups that make up the population include the Eurasions and the more than 50 indegenous groups from Sabah and Sarawak likethe Kadazans, Dusuns, Muruts, Ibans, Orang Ulu, Melanau, Bidayuhs, Penans, just to name a few.The different races have their own traditions and customs which gives Malaysia a colourful heritage.
